Julie Saathoff, PT, DPT
Director of Rehabilitation
Julie is the Director of Rehabilitation at JCH. She was born and raised around Sterling, Nebraska, where she was closely involved in community organizations and sports. Once graduating from high school, she continued her quest for knowledge by attending Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, on a scholarship for academics and athletics. She graduated in 2007 with a double major in Biology and Physical Education with Emphasis in Athletic Training. While she was there, she found a true interest in the rehabilitation aspect of the athletes. In 2007, she was accepted to Creighton University’s School for Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions and graduated in 2010 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Amongst her clinicals at Creighton, she was able to travel and learn from different therapists in several areas, including Arizona, Florida, Nebraska, Texas, and the Dominican Republic in various settings, including but not limited to acute, aquatics, inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, and skilled nursing.
After graduating, she spent the first 5 years of her career in Longview, Texas, where she worked mostly in an outpatient therapy setting. She was also able to provide services to individuals in acute care, including wound care, home health, and skilled nursing. She was able to get her certifications in Graston Technique (GT) and Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN). These techniques can be used to assist with scar tissue management, pain, edema, increase range of motion and most importantly, to increase overall function. She has volunteered to assist with Creighton University’s Physical Therapy Dominican Republic clinical by being a clinical instructor and continues to take students from various universities to teach and mentor. Julie is a firm believer in treating the “whole” person and using the most current evidence based methods to be able to better serve her patients, students, and co-workers.
Outside of physical therapy, she enjoys traveling near and far, gardening, sewing, assisting her family with farming tasks ,and spending time with family and friends.
